Hi Gang
It’s Dave again with Hand Fishing Enterprises.
What a great day we had. I took my daughter up to Lac Ste. Anne in Alberta for a bit of hard water fishing for pike, perch and whitefish.
It was a day off work for me and reading week for her, so she had a short break from university. Naturally any dad worth his salt is going to think tea party, just like when she was small.
Luckily I had been drying out a bunch of Labrador tea and rose hips that I had picked at the end of hunting season, so they were ready for what I like to call an “expedition”.
I know, the kids always roll their eyes, because they know it just means a reason to load up the jeep and get out of town. At least the dog gets excited when I say it.
So here we are. The weather was fantastic, and lots of ice to hold up “Jiggles”. (That’s what I named the jeep, not my daughter or the dog). You’ll have to wait for future blogs to find out why.
The tea was impressive, and after only a short time on the water we got a small pike.
The fishing did slow down as we hit the afternoon doldrums, but still, let’s all remember the famous old saying. “A slow day fishing still beats a good day working”.
It was the best tea party “expedition” yet.
Everybody looks happy, so I’m in the good dad books.
And of course we can’t forget.
At least one gratuitous shot of a Hand Fisherman.
This is the small size, goes anywhere, fits in just your pocket and always ready to go.
Remember, these units are made of high quality marine grade plywood with multiple clear coats, and built to last a lifetime. I won’t be too surprised to see this one handed down a generation or two.
